Wimbledon 2023 Day 2nd and Day 3rd ends with Andy Murray’s straight-set win and Novak Djokovic title defending campaign
Day 2 and Day 3rd of Wimbledon 2023 were quite good for the top-seeded players as Andy Murray returned with a straight-set win in the first round after missing two major competitions. The champion Novak Djokovic started off his campaign with a victory against the Argentina player Pedro Cachin by 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). His next opponent is Jordan Thompson, who is said to be one of the biggest threats to him in Wimbledon 2023.
In the Women’s singles, the ranked 1st player Iga Swiatek won her first match in a straight set by 6-1, 6-3 against a Chinese player Zhu Lin. Another worthy contender for the Wimbledon title is Aryna Sabalenka, who won her first-round match in the straight set against Panna Udvardy by 6-3, 6-1.
Carlos Alcaraz started off quite well in the first round, winning the match by 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 against Jeremy Chardy. In the post-match presentation, he stated that he wished Roger Federer should have watched his match because he wanted to show his skill to the great legend, so he would ask him about his performance and ask about his views.
Wimbledon is one of the most prestigious tournaments in tennis, and every day few famous celebrities come to watch the game. On day two, Bear Grylls and his wife, Shara, came to watch the match.
On day 3rd, there was some delay to the matches due to rainy conditions and the damp tennis court, which affected some of the matches, and we saw Djokovic helping the groundsman in drying the court, which was quite amazing stuff. It is said that there will be more rain incoming on the day 4th and 5th, which is going to abandon some matches for sure that can hurt lower-seeded players who have lower ranks.
