Novak Djokovic beats Grigor Dimitrov to reach the Round of 16 of the Italian Open
The world number one, Novak Djokovic, had a hard time beating the Bulgaria tennis player Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 32 match of the Italian Open in Rome by 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in favor of Djokovic.
The first set of the match went to Novak by 6-3, but the next round was a total turnaround when Grigor Dimitrov won the set by 6-4 to Novak, and some of the points were lucky because some of the ball turned other way around due to the clay surface.
In the second set, Grigor Dimitrov won straight 12 points against the world number one, who was super frustrated about the condition and was also unlucky because a few times the ball did not come to him as it was supposed to be due to the bad condition of the surface.
The third set of the game is all about Djokovic class and skills as he closes the set by 6-1 in favor of himself and wins the round of 32 of the Italian Open. It was a good comeback match after his right elbow surgery. He is now one step closer to winning his 7th Italian Open title and will face his next opponent Cameron Norrie in the round of 16.
Novak Djokovic and Cameron played 2 matches against each other, and in both matches, Djokovic won the game easily.
Djokovic also criticized the court condition of Rome and told about it in his post-match presentation, which is not good news for the Rome Tennis Federation.
“Rome never had a great reputation for the quality of the court, to be honest with you,” “What is interesting would be to understand how much tennis they’re playing on the court before the tournament starts. I think the other year I asked, and they were not playing much at all.”
Novak Djokovic said in the post match presentation
It is going to be an exciting match between Djokovic and Cameron and can be tough for Djokovic because of the condition of the surface.
