Nick Kyrgios showed an amazing new Pokemon tattoo on his back on Twitter
Tennis star Nick Kyrgios has revealed his latest tattoo, a large image of Blastoise, one of the original Pokemon, on his back. The Australian player, who is known for his fiery personality and controversial antics on the court, shared a photo of his new ink on Instagram, captioning it “The realist in the game.”
Blastoise, a water-type Pokemon developed from Wartortle, fires water at tremendous pressure from two potent cannons on its shell. Blastoise is Kyrgios’ favorite Pokemon, and he has previously remarked that he can identify with its power and attitude. Kyrgios owns a collection of Pokemon cards and memorabilia.
More tennis players enjoy Pokémon besides Kyrgios. The four-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one Naomi Osaka has a tattoo of Pikachu, the most recognizable Pokemon, on her right thigh and has spoken about her excitement for the series.
Pokémon, which stands for Pocket Monsters, is a media franchise that started in Japan in 1996 as a video game series and expanded into various forms of entertainment, such as anime, manga, trading cards, toys, and movies. It is one of the world’s most successful and popular franchises, with over 300 million video games sold and over $100 billion in total franchise revenue.
Kyrgios, who is currently ranked 35th in the world, returned to tennis in the latest Wimbledon but pulled himself out from the future competition because of his concern over a knee injury he is facing said that he needed to do surgery for that it would take at least six months to return to court but still, everyone is expecting him to return to the court in 2024.
Before his wrist injury and knee injury, Kyrgios used to be a top ten tennis player in the list of star players, but since last year he dropped his ranking from number 11 to now number 59, which is a drastic downfall for the Australian star.
