Training Camps for Indian Men’s Hockey Team

Dutch goalkeeping expert Dennis van de Pol is set to conduct specialized training camps for the Indian men's hockey team in preparation for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.

Dennis van de Pol, a highly respected hockey goalkeeping coach hailing from the Netherlands, is slated to conduct two special training camps designed for the Indian men’s hockey team goalkeepers. This collaboration is a part of the team’s preparations for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.

Van de Pol’s expertise in goalkeeping is anticipated to offer significant advantage to the Indian team. His first camp in India is scheduled to start on July 13, 2023, and will conclude on July 19, 2023. Following this, Van de Pol will again visit India from September 7 to September 14, 2023, to conduct another training session with the team.

The goalkeepers of the Indian team are set to participate in these sessions during a week-long camp at SAI, Bengaluru, under the watchful eyes of India’s Chief Coach Craig Fulton. The training will be attended by PR Sreejesh, Krishan Pathak, Suraj Karkera, Prashant Kumar Chauhan, and Pawan Malik.

Besides this focused training, the Indian team is expected to participate in several other tournaments in the run-up to the Asian Games. Foremost among these is the 100th Anniversary Spanish Hockey Federation-International Tournament, which is a four-nation tournament scheduled to take place from July 25 to 30. The Indian team will be pitted against formidable teams from England, the Netherlands, and host nation Spain.

Following this, the Indian team will participate in the Asian Champions Trophy 2023 in August, providing another opportunity for the players to test their mettle and for the coaching staff to fine-tune their strategies.

These events, combined with the specialized training under van de Pol, signal a rigorous preparation phase for the Indian men’s hockey team. This focused effort promises a promising performance at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games.
