Neal Maupay Set for Summer Exit After Attracting Interest from France and Italy

Neal Maupay looks likely to be on the move this summer, with sources telling Football Insider that he has attracted interest from France and Italy as he seeks an exit from Everton.

Neal Maupay is reportedly set to end his disappointing spell at Everton this summer, with sources telling Football Insider that he has attracted interest from clubs in both France and Italy.

Maupay joined the Toffees last summer for a fee of £15m from Brighton, however his time on Merseyside could be cut short after an underwhelming season in which he scored just once in 29 appearances across all competitions. The lack of goals meant Maupay failed to establish himself as a regular starter under Sean Dyche despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence for large parts of the second half of the season.

The 26-year-old forward had previously been linked with moves abroad prior to his move to Goodison Park due to his impressive form for Brighton, with Ligue 1 giants Marseille and AS Monaco both believed to have pursued him before he opted for England.

Now Maupay could be set for a move away from the Premier League as clubs in France and Italy have reportedly become interested in signing him this summer. It remains unclear which sides have expressed an interest, but it appears likely that they could be attracted by the prospect of signing a proven goalscorer who has experience playing at a high level in England.

Maupay has been linked with various clubs throughout his career, including Borussia Dortmund during his time at St Etienne, and more recently Roma were thought to be keen on signing the French-born forward last summer.

Whichever club manages to secure Maupay’s signature this summer would be getting a player with plenty of potential, who has shown his quality in the past. He has also proven he can adapt to different leagues and competitions quickly, having made a smooth transition during his time at Brighton after making the move from France.

It is expected that Neal Maupay will move away from England this summer, as he looks to embark on a fresh challenge with clubs in both France and Italy showing interest in him. It remains to be seen which team he ends up joining but it appears likely that they will be acquiring a talented goalscorer who knows how to make an impact in their attack.
