The Indian women’s football team have marked a significant milestone by climbing up to the 60th spot in the latest FIFA rankings. This marks a one position improvement from their previous ranking of 61 in March 2021, and is the highest rank they have achieved since their 2013 peak at 49th place.

This impressive feat comes after a series of captivating performances by the Blue Tigresses in international tournaments like South Asian Football Federation Championship, COTIF Cup and the Four Nation Tournament. The team put forth an electrifying display of skill and resolve which was spearheaded by their impressive forward line and solid defensive setup.

The significant rise in rankings is also due to India’s positive results against higher-ranked opponents, including their 1-1 draw with Nepal which was ranked 47th at the time.
