AIFF Secretary General Applauds Blue Tigers’ Winning Streak; Announces New Grassroots Programme
Following an impressive streak in the Hero Intercontinental Cup and the SAFF Championship, the Blue Tigers, India’s national football team, have earned high praise from Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran, the Secretary-General of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The team’s successful two-month tenure in these tournaments has extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches.
The sterling performances on the pitch by the Blue Tigers have drawn attention to the team’s eagerness to deliver high-level performances. The winning streak is marked by a display of enhanced confidence, fluid movement, and strong team spirit, a testament to the dedication and effort of the players, coaching staff, and the broader support team.
Prabhakaran further expressed gratitude towards the fans who showed overwhelming support during the SAFF Championship in Bengaluru. Their enthusiastic presence in large numbers was instrumental in uplifting the team’s spirit and is a reflection of the growing passion for football across India.
The SAFF Championship, which saw participation from teams outside the South Asian region, such as Lebanon and Kuwait, offered the Indian team an opportunity to benchmark their progress against a broader competition base. The experience highlighted the significant improvements made by the Blue Tigers, reflected in their improved ranking, which now stands at 100.
In view of the successful run, Prabhakaran underlined the importance of maintaining the momentum and continuing engagement with stakeholders. Alongside these achievements, he also announced a new grassroots programme, demonstrating AIFF’s commitment to nurturing football talent from the ground up. This initiative is a promising step towards fostering young talent and ensuring a robust future for Indian football.
