The Indian football team has steadily progressed in the FIFA rankings over the past few years. In 2019, India was ranked 103rd in the world. In 2020, they moved up to 108th place. In 2021, they climbed up to 105th place.
India’s rise in the FIFA rankings is due to their recent performances in international matches. The team has been performing well in the World Cup qualifiers and has also won the Intercontinental Cup.
The Intercontinental Cup is an international football tournament that is held annually. It features teams from different continents competing against each other. The tournament is organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and is held in India.
The World Cup qualifiers are a series of matches that are played by national teams from around the world. The matches are played to determine which teams will qualify for the FIFA World Cup. The World Cup is held every four years and is one of the most prestigious tournaments in football. They are in the league stage two of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, and the last time they were in that was in 2019, but they lost in the final against Qatar by 1-0.

They will play in the SAFF semi-final against Lebanon, and they recently won the Intercontinental Cup 2-0 against Lebanon in the final. Sunil Chhetri has already scored 5 goals in the SAFF Championship.
India entered their best phase after a very long time, and one of the biggest reasons for this is fan support, as all the matches are going with a packed stadium supporting India.
