Celtic Look to Land Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi for £7million Deal.

Celtic could land Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi for a cut-price deal of £7 million this summer.

Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi has been the subject of heavy interest from Celtic this summer, with reports suggesting the Glasgow club could land him for a cut-price deal of £7 million.

Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton believes that if Brendan Rodgers manages to snap up the 26-year-old midfielder, it would be an excellent signing for Celtic and one which would improve their squad significantly.

Ndidi joined Leicester in 2018 having previously played for Belgian outfit Genk. He is now entering the final year of his contract at King Power Stadium and looks likely to leave following Leicester’s Champions League exit and subsequent squad reshuffle.

The Foxes are set to lose many big names this summer, including star striker Jamie Vardy and defender Ben Chilwell. It appears they are open to offloading Ndidi for a reduced fee in order to balance their books following the costly departures.

Ndidi has made 117 appearances for Leicester City since joining them two years ago and is known for his excellent defensive abilities as well as his energy and work-rate on the pitch. A move to Celtic would give him a chance to show off these skills in Scotland’s top division.

Celtic fans have been vocal about wanting new signings at Parkhead this season and if Rodgers can land Ndidi it will go some way towards appeasing those supporters. While there is still some way to go in terms of negotiations, it looks as though the defensive midfielder could be on his way to Celtic Park this summer.
