Portugal Women’s football team will be in their first ever FIFA Women’s Football World Cup. They even featured in their first-ever Euros last summer when the Russian team was banned for war reasons.
Portugal is not a strong team among women’s nations, but still, they started to show their skill and unit together. They lost two matches in the qualifier and also drew one but other than that, they showed quite amazing quality in the team.
Diana Silva is one of the main players who is going to be important for them, playing from the front as she did in the qualifiers and in the friendly. She scored 5 goals and gave 5 assists.
Kika Nazareth is one of the youngest midfielders on the team, who has the ability to score and pop up in the penalty box anytime. She is supported by Tatiana Pinto, who is one of the most experienced players, but her stamina has been some consideration.
In the defense, Carole Costa and Diana Gomes are one of the top talents as a defender, but another option they have is Silvia Rebelo, who is one of the most capped players.
They are in Group E, in which the defending champion United States, Vietnam, and the Netherlands, which is going to be hard for them because both the Netherlands and the United States are favorites to progress through from this group.
