All about Jamaica Women’s Football Team for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
Jamaica Women’s football team will be going to play another FIFA Women’s World Cup. Which is going to start on July 20th, 2023, in Australia and New Zealand.
The amazing fact about the Jamaican women’s football team is that they are one of the newest footballing nations, which formed in 2014, and in 2019, they were able to qualify for the world cup, which is an amazing achievement by them. They lost all three matches last year in group stages as all their opponent were experienced sides, Brazil, Italy, and Australia.
Lorne Donaldson was appointed as the head coach last year, just before Concacaf (W) Championship, in which they came in the third position. This clearly showed the nation that under the new coach, the team improved, and after their last coach Vinimore was released from the post, the women’s team gave a letter talking about the former coach’s methods and wrong leadership skills.
Jamaica Women’s football team has some amazing players who might turn the table for them and lead their team into the round of 16 for the first time. Khadija Shaw is one of the star players who went strong and won the 2022 Concacaf Female Player of the Year. She scored 4 goals and gave 1 assist in 4 matches she played in the tournament, and for her club Manchester City, she scored 20 goals and gave 7 assists which clearly shows his goal-scoring dominance in world football.
Once again, Jamaica needs a miracle to reach the round of 16 because they are in Group F with Franc and Brazil, one of the best footballing nations, but they should win the match against Panama, the weaker side.
Jamaican team, thanks to Cedella Marley, the daughter of late BOB Marley, for giving the funds to start the football team. Else, it would not have been possible for them to run their football team.
