“We last played together in Dominica in 2011” Virat Kohli was all nostalgic before India vs WI’s first Test.
Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli and India’s former captain and now head coach Rahul Dravid shared a frame in the recent picture uploaded by Virat Kohli on his Instagram account. The two Icons of Cricket and the Indian side are all set to play the first Test match of the two at Windsor Park Stadium, Dominica. Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid were both part of the Indian squad when they played together back in 2011 at the same venue, and it was the last Test match for Rahul Dravid on Caribbean soil. The Indian team is going to take on the West Indies on July 12, and the tour will last for nearly a month as the men in blue are going to play an all-format series against the Caribbeans, starting with two test matches.
After getting defeated by Australia in the WTC final, India is all ready to start a new WTC journey and would be expecting to start it with a series win. The team would be led by Rohit Sharma, and Ajinkya Rahane would be his deputy. India last played a test match at the same venue back in 2011 during the third test match of the Test series, which resulted in a draw and India claiming the Test series by 1-0. This time Rahul Dravid would be looking to prove his mettle after the WTC defeat, as the contract with BCCI is going to be over soon and he will be coaching India till the ICC World Cup 2023, which is going to be held in India between October and November.
India’s schedule for this year is jampacked, as after the tour of the West Indies, India would be playing in the Asia Cup, and there is an Ireland tour as well before the World Cup. If team India managed to secure victories in all these fixtures, that would work as a moral booster and positively impact the Indian players.
