There was a strong performance by the overseas player Cameroon Green that helped MI seal the victory.
SRH vs MI highlights: Mumbai Indians batted first
Mumbai Indians Captain (Rohit Sharma) and stylish left-handed batter Ishan Kishan started the innings for MI, and Rohit Sharma, in his old fashion, opened his boundaries account with a four in the very first over of Bhubaneswar Kumar, and from another side, Ishan Kishan started playing some good shots, but Rohit’s innings came to an end when he tried playing T Natarajan bowl towards the leg side and gave a simple catch to Aiden Markram. He scored 28 runs in 18 balls.
Cameroon Green came to the crease after the first wicket fell for MI and started slowly to analyse the pitch conditions, while Ishan Kishan started increasing the scoreboard and played some great shots out of the park, but his innings didn’t last long and he got out after making 38 runs in the 3rd over of Marco Jansen. Later, Marco Jansen got rid of Surya Kumar Yadav in the same over.
Left-handed batter Tilak Varma appeared on the crease and started accelerating the scoreboard, but he got out after his short and impactful innings, in which he scored 37 runs in just 17 balls; meanwhile, Cameroon Green continued his innings and scored his first IPL fifty, and a short cameo by Tim David in the death overs helped Mumbai Indians put a fighting total of 192 runs on the board.
SRH vs MI highlights: Sunrisers Hyderabad battled to chase the target
Sunrisers Hyderabad opened their innings with their last match batting star Harry Brook (who scored his maiden IPL century against KKR) and Mayank Agarwal, but this time Harry Brook wasn’t able to continue his great form and gave his wicket to Jason Behrendoff. Rahul Tripathi came to the crease and failed to impress this time with the bat, scoring just 7 runs in his brief innings.
SRH’s captain (Aiden Markram) tried lowering the target gap, but Cameroon Green in the first over of his spell took Markram’s wicket, soon Abhishek Sharma got out, and then Heinrich Klassen arrived at the crease and started showing his lethal hitting. Before getting out in Piyush Chawla’s over, he hit 20 runs in his over but fell prey to his smart bowling tactics.
Batters after that failed to impress, though Washington Sundar played some shots, but those weren’t enough to defeat the Mumbai Indians, and SRH lost by 14 runs.
SRH vs MI highlights: Arjun Tendulkar’s maiden wicket and Rohit Sharma’s new IPL milestone
Soon after his (Arjun Tendulkar’s) debut in the IPL, he got his maiden wicket in the IPL while playing against SRH; his first wicket was Bhubaneswar Kumar. Rohit Sharma, captain of the Mumbai Indians, crossed 6,000 runs in the IPL and became the fourth player to reach this milestone; before him, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner reached this milestone.
SRH vs MI highlights: Post Match
The crowd in Hyderabad saw another epic IPL match. Mumbai Indians played strong and utilised the Cameroon Green well, whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad, even after having a good batting line-up, wasn’t able to chase the target of 193 runs. SRH needs to work on both the bowling and batting departments, as they have a good batting and bowling line-up, but they need to improvise their playing XI to bounce back.
