Shubman Gill is all prepared for WTC final 2023.
Shubman Gill had a splendid IPL season as he ended up claiming the orange cap for the IPL 2023 season. He smashed 890 runs in his 17 matches, and now he is training in England for the ICC World Test Championship final. Team India is going to clash with Australia in the final of the WTC, and this time India will be eyeing the mace of the WTC. The line-up of India’s team looks quite stable, with batters like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill all ready to take on Australian bowlers, and pacers like Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami geared up to dismantle the Australian side.
Coming back to Shubman Gill, who is having a spectacular year so far, he became one of the batters for India who hit centuries in all three formats of cricket, plus he became the youngest batter to hit a double century in the ODI format. Shifting his style of cricket from T20 to Test for the WTC final was quite a task for the young cricketer, but he enjoyed the transformation phase, as it was both fun and challenging for him. Shubman Gill played in the WTC final in 2021, where he scored only 28 and 8 runs in his brief innings. He is working on his mistakes so that he could perform better in the finals of the WTC.
“It does give you a bit of confidence (from the IPL), but I feel this is a completely different scenario and a completely different game but that’s the fun about it. Last week we were playing something completely different with a different atmosphere and that is the challenge and that is what is exciting about Test cricket,”
“We have been talking about some of the things we have learned as a team and especially as a batting group from playing that match. Hopefully, we will be able to overcome the mistakes we made last time,”
