RR vs LSG Match Prediction: Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants, 26th Match of IPL 2023
RR vs LSG Match Prediction: Rajasthan Royals will host Lucknow Super Giants at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on April 19, 2023.
The match is going to be interesting between the current two top leagues in the IPL 2023 and the clash between the two top wicketkeepers of the Indian cricket team. Rajasthan Royals are also going to play their first match of the IPL at their home ground which will be special for them and for the fans.
Rajasthan Royals are on the winning roll and looking very solid as a team in the IPL 2023. The batting has been the most uplifting part of the Rajasthan Royals(RR) side because all batsmen except Riyan Parag are performing match, and in every match, some players came out on top of the opposition bowlers, just like in the previous match Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer played an explosive inning to defeat the defending champions Gujarat Titans by three wickets.
Lucknow Super Giants lost their winning run in their previous match as they lost the match against the Punjab Kings by 2 wickets. The team captain was the only one with a good amount of runs (74). The opening was amazing as they had 53 runs partnership which was broken by Harpreet Brar’s bowling. Deepak Hooda once again failed to score runs, and in the last match, hero Nicholas Pooran proved himself once again that he is not a reliable player who can score in every match as he got out on a duck(0).

RR vs LSG: Head-to-Head Record
Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants played only two matches in IPL, in which Rajasthan Royals won both matches in IPL 2022. In their previous encounter, Rajasthan Royals won the match by 24 runs which was an easy win, and they were on top of their opponent.
RR vs LSG: Pitch Report of Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur
Matches Played | 46 |
Batting first won | 15 |
Batting second won | 31 |
Average 1st innings batting score | 157 |
Pace Bowlers Took | 316 Wickets |
Spin Bowlers Took | 141 Wickets |
Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur pitch has been tough for the batter and good for the bowlers as no team ever crossed the 200 run mark in all 46 IPL matches played here, which clearly shows that the pitch is slow and tacky, which will swing at first and after that will spin also.
The ex-Pakistani and Rajasthan Royals player Sohail Tanveer has a record of 6/14 in his four-over spell in IPL, which is a 2nd best bowling figure after the Gujarat Titans bowler Alzarri Joseph who has a record of 6/12 in 3.4 overs.
The average score here is 157 runs which is a low total in IPL, and batsmen have difficulty picking the right length for the bowlers. The ground dimension is also big if you compare it to other grounds, which gives comfort to spin bowlers as well as pace bowlers.
Team Preview of Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals are in red hot form as they won four out of five matches in IPL 2023 so far and will be looking to win their next match against the Lucknow Super Giants side, but it is not going to be an easy task for the Rajasthan side because the Lucknow side is also at the 2nd of the table and anything can happen in this match.
In their previous match, captain Sanju Samson came back in form as he scored a fantastic knock of 60 runs in 32 balls, and the highlight of the innings was his three sixes against the world-class spin bowler Rashid Khan. He even told in the pre-interview that he already had too much omelet with two eggs in his previous innings, and now he wanna score big, which he did at the end.
“I’m very happy to be on the winning side. I think it was very important to rotate the bowlers. They were going hard at our spinners. After the timeout, they were playing some quality cricket shots and we needed to respect that but I’m very proud of our team for restricting them to a 170-odd score,” said Samson.
Sanju Samson was happy with team’s performance, as he said in the Post Match Interview on Jio Cinema and Star Sports.
The main man for them in the previous match against the defending champion Gujarat Titans side was Shiron Hetmyer, who is slowly becoming a more and more reliable batsman for the Rajasthan Royals side. He played a fantastic inning, scoring runs in 26 balls and hitting the match’s winning shot to seal the victory by three wickets.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Dhruv Jurel’s cameo were one of the match-decider moments for the Rajasthan Royals side. Their pace bowling unit needs some improvement because their spin unit is best in the IPL 2023. Sandeep Sharma has been amazing for them, and he was the best bowler for them in the previous match, as he took two wickets by giving away 25 runs in 4 overs.
Chahal also kept his wicket-taking habit on the go as, once again, he took an important wicket of Hardik Pandya, who was looking good in the match. The opening of Rajasthan Royals failed in the last match for the first time in IPL 2023 as Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on 1 and Jos Buttler got out on 0.
Team Preview of Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants lost their last match against the Punjab Kings by 2 wickets. They did not perform very well as a team, and their batting unit completely failed to score runs except for the openers. The big positive for them in their previous match was KL Rahul’s form was back, and he looked like the talented KL, which impressed everyone in the world.
Kl Rahul scored 74 runs in just 56 balls, but other than him, the middle order failed to score any runs in the match, and they were able to set a total of 159 only, which was low on the ground like Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
“I think we were about 10 runs short towards the end. The dew came in and it seemed to help the batters a little bit more. We did not execute well with the ball. When you are playing on a new ground and a new pitch, you cannot rely on the previous games. If a couple of batters get in, play good knocks, we can get to 180-190,” said Rahul.
KL Rahul said at the Post-Match interview of IPL match between LSG vs PBKS.
They need to change a few players like Deepak Hooda, who is not performing at all in the IPL 2023. He played 5 matches and scored just 37 runs with an average of 7 which is lower than any 11th-down tailender. They can include Quinton de Kock as the impact player in place of Mark Wood when Lucknow Super Giants bats which will balance the side of the Lucknow Super Giants and add a fantastic T20 player like de Kock.
The bowling of Lucknow Super Giants is not performing consistently, especially the 2nd spinner of the team is not reliable. Ravi Bishnoi is doing his job fine, but it was just a confusing decision by KL Rahul not to give Ravi his full quota of bowling, as he bowled only 2.3 overs. KL Rahul needs to understand the situation and keep himself ready because he was not rotating his bowlers well and should have given more overs to Ravi Bishnoi, who is a regular wicket-taker for them in this season of IPL 2023.
Yudhvir Singh Charak had an amazing match as he picked 2 wickets and gave only 19 runs in 3 overs, but still, KL Rahul did not go with him in the last over. There are going to be a few changes in the lineup in the next match for the Lucknow Super Giants.
