Rishabh Pant is one of the star left-handed Indian batters who has made his name in Indian cricket in less time with his batting and wicket-keeping performances in both IPL and international cricket matches. Rishabh Pant’s Childhood and days before Cricket:
Rishabh Pant was born on October 4, 1997, in Roorkee (Haridwar), Uttarakhand, to Late Rajendra Pant (his father) and Saroj Pant (his mother). From childhood, he started playing cricket, and at the tender age of 12, he and his mother came to Delhi on weekends at the Sonnet Cricket Academy so that Rishabh could get proper training in cricket. He continued training under the guidance of his coach, Tarak Sinha. His mother and he used to sleep at the Gurudwara at night as there was no accommodation available nearby at the time when he used to travel to his cricket academy.

Cricket Career of Rishabh Pant so far:
Domestic Career:
Pant had his list-A and first-class debuts in 2015; he had his first-class debut in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy; and his list-A debut happened in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored the fastest century in first-class cricket against Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy in 2016. Later, he was named the Delhi team’s captain for the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
IPL:
Rishabh Pant became part of the IPL franchise in 2016 when he was inducted into the Delhi Daredevils team (now the Delhi Capitals). Pant made his maiden IPL fifty in his third match; he became the second youngest Indian player to hit an IPL century. The match was played against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018. Later, Delhi Capitals management made him the Delhi Capitals captain in 2021. Since then, he has been captaining the Delhi Capitals franchise till 2022 as he is now recovering from a tragic car accident.
International Career:
Pant’s international career started in 2017 when he got selected for the India T20 match series against England, and later in 2018, he made his international test cricket debut against the same team, scoring his maiden test century in that series. In the same year, he made his international ODI debut against the West Indies in 2001. He has so far captained the Indian team in a T20I match against South Africa in 2022 and became the second-youngest Indian player to captain Team India in a T20I match. He made his name when he played exceptionally well in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, where his crucial innings helped India win the series.

- Rishabh Pant is the first wicketkeeper Indian batter to score a test century against Australia; he hit it in 2019.
- He became the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to dismiss fifty players in test cricket in India’s test series against the West Indies.
- In 2021, he became the fastest wicketkeeper batter for India to reach the 1000-run mark in test cricket.
- In the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, he became the third youngest Indian batter to score a triple century in first-class cricket. He made 308 runs in that match.
- He is the first Indian batter to open his test cricket run account with a six.

Urvashi Rautela, a popular model and actress in India, caught the attention of the media and social media users after her interview with Bollywood Hungama, where she constantly mentioned a person with the name “Mr. RP” and said that the person was so desperate to talk to her and meet her. People linked this Mr. RP to Rishabh Pant, as the duo was rumored to be dating each other in 2018, but things got over quickly between them, and after that, they have been constantly mocking each other on social media now and then. Even when Rishab Pant’s accident happened, Urvashi Rautela shared a picture of the hospital from outside where he was admitted, and got a lot of backlash from social media users for following him.

Rishabh Pant’s accident and Recovery:
Rishabh Pant, while driving to his hometown of Haridwar, Uttarakhand, met with a tragic accident in the early morning on the Delhi-Dehradun highway when he lost control of his car and hit the road divider. His car caught fire immediately, and somehow he managed to escape from the car. Due to God’s grace, he survived and only got minor injuries on his head and back. He was rescued by a Haryana Roadways bus driver and his assistant; had they not rescued him on time, we wouldn’t have Rishabh Pant among us.
