RCB vs RR Match Prediction: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals, 32nd Match of IPL 2023

RCB vs RR Match Prediction: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals, 32nd Match of IPL 2023.

RCB vs RR Match Prediction: Royal Challengers Bangalore will welcome Rajasthan Royals at their home ground M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on April 23, 2023.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won their last match comprehensively by 24 runs after Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis contributions let the team put in a total of 174, and then Mohammed Siraj’s firey spell of 21 for 4 wickets in four overs just destroyed the batting lineup of Punjab Kings.

It was kind of an eye-watering match for RCB fans because Virat Kohli was appointed as a captain for the match because Faf du Plessis was not fully fit and played as an impact player only. After so long, he captained the RCB, and it was a positive match and captaincy for him as he used two reviews that went in his favor when the umpire denied giving out.

In a previous match, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis together made 143 runs, and only 19 runs were made by the other four batsmen. It will be an exciting match between two amazing teams with a great batting lineup, and we will see a lot of runs. They had an opening partnership of 137 in 97 balls.

Rajasthan Royals is no different than Royal Challengers Bangalore when it comes to letting go of matches from their hand when they are in total control of the match, and that is what they did in the last match against the Lucknow Super Giants, as they lost the match by 10 runs.

The openers of Rajasthan Royals (Jos Butler and Yashasvi Jaiswal) were in stable condition with 87 run stand till the 11th over, but then in the 11th over, Marcus Stonis Yashasvi Jaiswal gave his wicket, and soon after that, Butler made Sanju Samson run out because of his wrong call for a run. The pitch was tacky, and the batter was not able to time the ball well. Soon they fell short of chasing the target and lost the match by 10 runs.

RCB vs RR: Head-to-Head Record

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals played 28 matches against each other, of which Royal Challengers Bangalore won 13 matches and Rajasthan Royals won 12. They always had close encounters, and last season, both teams played playoffs against each other.

Rajasthan Royals won the last match against the Royal Challengers Banglore by 7 wickets in that Jos Buttler just smashed the RCB bowlers out of the ground. He scored 106 runs in just 60 balls, and Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy took three wickets each.

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has been a paradise for the batsmen as it has pitch-bat-friendly and short boundaries, which makes it very hard for bowlers to defend runs, and there have been high-scoring matches played on this ground.

In all 82 matches on this ground, 1148 sixes and 2201 boundaries have been hitted, which shows that it is a paradise for the batters, and they enjoy playing here. The last match on this ground was a clear indication of why this ground is so batting-friendly and hell for bowlers.

In the last match, 33 sixes were hit in total, and 444 runs were scored in 40 overs, which is an absolute run feast and great entertainment for the Fans.

Team Preview of Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals is still at the top of the table after losing to Lucknow Super Giants in the last match at their own home ground by 10 runs.

The team is well-balanced, and no changes they need right now in the team but the next match is against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at M. Chinaswamy Stadium, which is hell for bowlers, especially spinners, and the Rajasthan Royals side have strength in their spin department, so they are going to face the challenge at the RCB home ground.

The head coach of Rajasthan Royals gives a few statements about the players after the Lucknow Super Giants match.

“At the back end, especially Bishnoi’s last over, we weren’t committed enough to take him down look for three four sixes. Even if the batter got out that time it didn’t matter,”

said Sangakkara during the post-match conference.

Kumar Sangakkara also has a say about Riyan Parag.

“He’s been batting well in the nets. We do back our players quite well especially when he comes in to back up for us or DDP comes in as an impact substitute. Looking at the local talent that we have. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been in good form, we will assess that and address them at the training,”

Kumar Sangakkara said during the post-match conference.

The batsmen who were not able to hit the ball properly in the previous match will look to enjoy themself in the M. Chinaswamy Stadium because it is a paradise for the batters. The only player Rajasthan Royal should get rid of is Riyan Parag, who is one of the worst cricketers in the IPL. He did nothing except for 1 or 2 performances in the last 3 seasons of IPL.

Jos Buttler does not have the season which he has known though he is in the orange cap race. Still, he is not scoring runs with a high strike rate, which he has known for, but he is giving the team a good start. The team should give Dhruv Jurel more time in the batting and promote him to the top middle order instead of sending Riyan Parag.

Team Preview of Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore, at the moment, after playing 6 matches, is in the 5th spot with 6 points. They won their previous match quite comfortably against the Punjab Kings, who have a great team on paper.

The next match is against the table toppers Rajasthan Royals, who knocked them out of the playoff last year, and it’s time to pay back for the Royal Challengers Bangalore at their own home ground M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The opening stands of the RCB team are the best among the other IPL teams because Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli both are in the top five run scorers in IPL 2023. Faf du Plessis holds the orange cap at the moment scoring 343 runs in six matches, and Virat Kohli is in the 3rd spot with 279 runs in 6 six matches.

78% of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s runs came from the top three batters, but they lacked finishing in the last phase of the match. Dinesh Karthik is the fourth-highest run scorer in the RCB team, with just 45 runs in 6 matches. That clearly shows that the middle order is not scoring runs, which makes them weak.

The same issue is with their middle overs and death-over bowling, where they leak most of the runs, but their powerplay overs have been fantastic because of Mohammed Siraj’s amazing bowling. He took 12 wickets in 6 matches with an economy of 6.71 and bowled the highest number of dot balls till now in IPL 2023. He is also the current Purple cap holder, but Yuzendra Chahal and Mark Wood are just behind him with 11 wickets.

“The strategy was to bat deep to have a crack at 190. Told them (the bowlers) that the target was more than enough. Cannot afford to take the game deep, especially when they lost 6-7 wickets,”

Kohli said in a post-match presentation.

Virat Kohli also completed his 6500 runs as a captain in the T20 format, which is an amazing feat. Take a bow to our fantastic captain and best player in the world.

In the last two matches, their middle order just failed to score any runs and also took up too many balls, which turned out to be a disaster for the Royal Challengers Bangalore side because, in most of the matches, they got amazing starts but failed to capitalize it to put huge total.

The Team Management of Royal Challengers Bangalore is beyond logic because they keep giving chances to players like Shahbaz Ahmed and Mahipal Lomror, who literally do nothing in the match. The bowling unit is quite good this year but still needs some improvements.

Royal Challengers Bangalore does not have a reliable Indian domestic batter who can replace players like Mahipal Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed.
