“I can be an annoying captain”- MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni and Co. won qualifier 1 of the TATA IPL 2023, and now they will be playing in the IPL 2023 finals, which is going to be his and his team’s 10th IPL final among their 9 IPL finals. Chennai Super Kings won four and lost five; this time the yellow army will be looking at lifting the IPL trophy again. MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains, not just for CSK but also for the Indian cricket team. Not just Indian cricket fans but current and former cricketers admire MS Dhoni a lot for his captaincy skills, and the way he molds situations in his favor is commendable. During the post-match presentation, when MS Dhoni was talking to Harsha Bhogle, he revealed that he is a very annoying captain as he changes the field frequently.

MS Dhoni said that he can be very annoying sometimes because he sets the field and fielders after analyzing the conditions and the style of batting and bowling happening at the moment on the field.

“You see the wicket, you see conditions, and you keep adjusting the field. I can be an annoying captain because I change the field every time. It can be annoying but I believe in my gut feel. That’s why I keep telling the fielders to keep an eye on me.” On the number of fast bowlers coming out of CSK stable, Dhoni said: “We try to create an environment and work out what is the strength of a fast bowler. We try to give them confidence and tell them ‘please try to explore your bowling”.

The Chennai Super Kings’ captain is respectfully aware of the things he does on the field and accepts that it can be annoying to change the positions of the fielders frequently, but at the end of the day, his strategy works and provides results.
