RR vs LSG highlights IPL 2023| A Low scoring thriller gave LSG a 10-run win over RR:

RR vs LSG Highlights: As rightly said, cricket is an unpredictable game, and Match No. 26 of the IPL 2023 just proved that. The match was happening between RR and LSG at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, where host team Rajasthan Royals, while chasing a target of 155 runs, fell short by 10 runs, though they started strong. Even the spectators started thinking that RR would win this match easily, but hardly anyone thought that Lucknow Super Giants would bounce back in that incredible fashion and would snatch the victory from Rajasthan Royals.

RR vs LSG Highlights: A slow and Cautious Start

Lucknow Super Giants’ captain KL Rahul and left-handed powerhouse Kyle Myers started the innings for LSG after Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson chose to bowl first. Trent Boult opened his bowling spell and didn’t consume any runs in the first over. He tried to unsettle KL Rahul, but Rahul defended the swing attack cautiously. Kyle Myers on the other end tried charging towards the bowling attack, but the bowlers of RR bowled well to keep Kyle Myers from hitting big.

The duo (KL Rahul and Kyle Myers), after a slow start, started shifting gears and hit some great shots. The scoreboard started running, and after the end of 10 overs, LSG were 79/0, but they lost their first wicket in the 11th over bowled by Jason Holder. KL Rahul got out after scoring 39 runs, and Ayush Badoni came to the crease but failed to score runs in double digits, and Trent Boult took his wicket when he scored only 1 run.

Later, Ravichandran Ashwin got rid of Deepak Hooda, and Marcus Stoinis joined the crease with Kyle Myers, who had made his fifty by then, but Ashwin got his wicket in the same over. Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran tried accelerating the scoreboard and managed to put in a respectable score before getting out. LSG put 154 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs.

RR vs LSG highlights: Rajasthan Royals opened strong:

Josh Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the Rajasthan Royals innings while chasing 154 runs. Both of them started scoring runs and played some good shots; the duo gave their team the start that it required, but in the 12th over, Yashasvi got out, and Rajasthan Royals lost their first wicket at 87 runs. But little did anyone know that the game would turn 360 degrees from there.

Soon RR’s captain Sanju Samson got run out in a Yes/No call while taking a quick single, and later Josh Buttler got out after scoring 40 runs; the batters afterward failed to score big, and even the last match hero Shimron Hetmyer couldn’t be able to score more than 2 runs. Devdutt Padikkal and Ryan Parag tried closing the score gap, but it was not their night. Eventually, the Rajasthan Royals lost the match by 10 runs and scored 144 runs.

RR vs LSG highlights: Sloppy Fielding and Stoinis game-changing spell:

Both teams’ fielding departments didn’t perform well; there were dropped catches from both sides; KL Rahul was dropped twice, and Yashasvi Jaiswal was put down by LSG fielders during the powerplay. Though there were some good catches as well in the match, but both teams need to work on their fielding.

Marcus Stoinis’s spell was a game-changer. In his bowling spell, he took 2 crucial wickets, which shifted the momentum toward LSG. He got rid of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Josh Buttler and gave 28 runs in his 4 overs. Avesh Khan also bowled well, and in the final over of the innings, when RR needed 19 runs to win, he conceived only 8 runs and took two wickets as well.

RR vs LSG highlights: Post-Match

That was a close game, and the turnaround done by LSG’s bowlers was amazing. Rajasthan Royals are still on top of the points table, followed by LSG with 4 wins. If Rajasthan Royals want to lead the table, then they need to fix the loopholes in their team as soon as possible.
