Kevin Pietersen shows confidence on Yashasvi Jaiswal for the ODI World Cup
Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen was all praise for Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubhman Gill for their performances so far in the IPL 2023. Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently playing as an opener for Rajasthan Royals, while Shubhman Gill is playing for Gujarat Titans. Both openers struck their maiden IPL ton this year. Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen didn’t back himself in praising the young Indian batters and said
“We’re seeing the future of the India top order in Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. I would really strongly look at Jaiswal for the 50-over World Cup. I’d blood him and let him go. I think 50 overs is going to be a thing of the past in the not-too-distant future, but I’d get him into the squad straight away,”

Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a great season so far as he has justified his position in the team, and in the majority of the games played he scored some valuable runs for his team. Though he wants to forget his team’s performance in the last match as they got all out after making just 59 runs against RCB, the chances of the Rajasthan Royals qualifying for the playoffs are not much if other teams perform well in their next matches, but time will tell which way the wind will blow.
Shubhman Gill has had a great year so far, and if he continues his form like that, then India would get a perfect right-hand opening batter, as the young lad has made some of his own records in cricket so far, and he recently added a feather to his already illustrated cap after hitting his maiden IPL ton. Plus, with that century, his team, the Gujarat Titans, are now qualified for the playoffs of the IPL and would be defending their IPL title this year, 2023.
