“He keeps getting better and better”- Joe Root on James Anderson.

England batter and former test captain Joe Root recently said some words for the ace pacer in England’s test cricket team and the bowling spearhead, James Anderson, who is going to be 41 soon in the month of July 2023. Joe Root praised him for his exceptional performances in the test matches, which helped England maintain a good record in the test format. As the Ashes are going to start soon, Joe Root wants him to continue performing like he always does for this season and many years ahead.

James Anderson has so far picked up 685 wickets in test cricket after playing 179 test matches for England. The ace pacer started his international test career 20 years ago on May 22, 2003, and since then he has been doing service for his nation’s team. Though he left international ODI and T20 cricket earlier, he continued playing test cricket for England and has always been a part of England’s test team.

James Anderson would play the Ashes series 2023, which is going to start on June 16, 2023, at Birmingham. He will not be able to play all five test matches as the pacer got injured while playing for Lancashire against Somerset in the county championship, but he will be available for bowling when the Ashes begin. The pacer is likely to surpass the 700 test wicket mark soon if the season goes in his favor; currently, he is in the third-highest wicket-taking position in test cricket, just behind Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.

In the Ashes series, Australia has so far led the win percentage as they managed to win 140 matches so far, and England has won 108 matches this time. As the Ashes series is going to happen in England, the home team has the advantage to seal a series win against Australia.
