Ishant Sharma’s huge statement on India bowling legend Zaheer Khan

The right-handed pacer of the India cricket team, Ishant Sharma, who last featured for the Indian side against New Zealand in 2021 and recently played in the IPL for the Delhi Capitals, had a decent IPL 2023 season and took 10 wickets in the 8 matches he played for his team and is still playing in the Ranji Trophy. The right-arm pacer hasn’t announced his retirement from international cricket so far and is still hopeful for his comeback. Recently, while talking on a podcast YouTube channel (Ranveer Allahbadia), he shared many incidents of his life and his viewpoint on various things, but the most significant was on India’s legendary left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan.

Sharing his views on Zaheer Khan, he said that Zaheer Khan was better than England’s ace bowler James Anderson, as the latter wouldn’t have achieved the feet in bowling if he was playing in Indian conditions. James Anderson is one of England’s legendary bowlers, as the 40-year-old player is still heading the England’s bowling side in the Ashes test series 2023, though in the first test match the veteran managed to take only 1 wicket. It is not wrong to say that the bowler has aged like wine, as he took 686 wickets in the test cricket, which is the third most by a player in the test cricket.

When he was asked whether the pacer has ever talked to James Anderson about aging, he said

“James Anderson’s bowling style and method is quite different. He plays in different conditions in England. May be if he played in India…,” Ishant Sharma stopped. The anchor smiled and said, “…maybe he wouldn’t have found that kind of success.”

mentioning Zaheer Khan. “Zak. He is better than Jimmy Anderson.”
