India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 clash: Venue revealed by IPL chairman Arun Dhumal.
The cash-rich league IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has recently revealed the venue of the blockbuster clash of India vs. Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, which is going to happen in Hybrid mode as finalized by the Asian Cricket Council. Six teams are going to play in the continental tournament, where Nepal will be playing the Asia Cup for the first time in their cricket history as they defeated UAE in the final of the ACC Premier Cup to qualify for the Asia Cup, and they will be playing alongside India and Pakistan in group A. The resistance coming out of Pakistan’s sports minister, Ehsan Mazari, on the Hybrid model is no more there, as said by Arun Dhumal, and India will be playing the match in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka would be hosting nine matches in the Asia Cup, and Pakistan would be hosting four matches, one of which is against Nepal. Arun Dhumal, while talking with PTI, revealed the venue of the epic clash, which would be Sri Lanka’s Dambulla. Here is what Arun Dhumal said:
“Our secretary met PCB head Zaka Ashraf and the Asia Cup schedule was finalised and it is on course as it was discussed earlier. There will be four games of league stage in Pakistan, followed by 9 games in Sri Lanka including both India versus Pakistan game and in case a third game if both teams play final”
Arun Dhumal said
Here is what he revealed when he was asked about Pakistan’s sports minister’s comment on India playing in Pakistan; otherwise, they will ask for a neutral venue in the ICC World Cup 2023 as well.
There was no such discussion held. Neither India is travelling to Pakistan nor our secretary will be travelling contrary to reports that have surfaced. Only the schedule was finalised,”
