Dilip Vengsarkar revealed-How did MS Dhoni become captain of the Indian team?

During the 2007 inaugural ICC T20 World Cup, when Team India went to South Africa, the world saw MS Dhoni as a captain leading the Indian team. The legend Rahul Dravid stepped down from captaincy when the team was playing their T20 matches in South Africa, but at that time Dhoni was leading the team well. So selectors had time to select the right one as a captain.
Sachin Tendulkar was approached by then board president Sharad Pawar, but he refused to take the captaincy and recommended MS Dhoni, and by winning the inaugural T20 World Cup, he proved his worth as a captain. The committee led by Dilip Vengsarkar showed confidence in MS Dhoni as the guy had the capability to lead and also took advice from various players about the behavior and approach of Dhoni on the field, and they got positive feedback.
