In the last match, the pitch was neutral but a bit tacky, making the ball skid sometimes, and sometimes the ball kept low, which helped Matheesha Pathirana take 3 wickets in his 4-over spell. In the 2nd innings, the ball started to turn a lot more than it did in the first innings, which helped Chennai Super Kings bowlers.

Team Preview of Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings are in a strong position in the table, and they will look to win their next match to secure their place in the playoffs.
The next match is against the Kolkata Knight Riders, with whom they won their last match quite easily, and in the next match against them, they will be the favorite to win the match.
The Chennai Super Kings team has balance in both departments, but still, their Bowling unit is a bit weaker than their batting. However, the next match will be played on their home ground, which will favor bowlers more, and because of that, Chennai Super Kings will be more confident to play against the Kolkata team.
Moeen Ali is going to be a key spinner in the next match against the Kolkata Knight Riders because there are 3-5 batsmen who are left-handers, and off-spinners always have the advantage over the left-hand batter because the ball goes away from the batter when it spins

I would have loved Mitch (Santner), he’s a bowler that has done very well on flat wickets with the new ball. He hits the seam and bowls at a good pace. He (Gaikwad) is batting really well, he’s somebody once he starts scoring, he’s very effortless. He’s somebody who’s happy to rotate. He has the game awareness. He is ready to adapt. You rarely get people like that. People who read the game, those are the kind of players you need in your team. The reading of the game is one of the best MS Dhoni does other than finishing the match with a six, and it has been the key reason why Chennai Super Kings have always been on the top because Dhoni has many plans in his mind if one of the plans does not work.

Kolkata Knight Riders need to be strong against the Chennai Super Kings in their next match because, in their last encounter, they were beaten quite comfortably.
They never had any momentum in the IPL season 2023, and the same story happened in their last match when they lost to Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets.
Nitish Rana’s captaincy is a major issue for them because he does not know whom to use when in the last match, he saw a left-hander batsman, so he came up for the bowling despite knowing that Jaiswal is in top form, and he does not have the skill of the good spinner that why he was been smashed down for 26 runs in his over.
Kolkata Knight Riders need to give the captaincy role to someone else so they can see if they will be able to do it in the next season if anything again happens to Shreyas Iyer. Sunil Narine can be a better captaincy option for the Kolkata Knight Riders team.
The pace bowling unit of Kolkata is not performing in the whole season. It is their spinners who are taking wickets for the team. Andre Russell is the only place for them, who took more than 5 wickets.
Umesh Yadav should be given more chances in the IPL, and they should use Shardul Thakur in the middle orders because the strength of Shardul Thakur is with the old ball, not with the new one.
