CSK vs DC highlights IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings after winning the toss decided to bat first and the regular opening duo of CSK Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway started the innings for CSK and both of them started testing the surface and played slow in the beginning though they managed to put 20 runs on the scoreboard in 2 overs in the second last of the powerplay when Axar Patel came for the attack he dismissed Devon Conway in the first ball of his spell.

CSK vs DC highlights IPL 2023: Chasing 168 runs against Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals came to bat with the usual left-hand right-hand combination Captain David Warner and Phil Salt started DC’s innings. The start that no DC fan wanted as David Warner went to the pavilion without scoring runs his wicket was taken by Deepak Chahar in the second ball of the first over. Batters afterward tried to score runs but in vain, as wickets kept falling and no batter other than Rilee Rossouw was able to score 30+ runs for Delhi Capitals. Chennai Super Kings won another match in IPL 2023.

The pitch at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai in yesterday’s match was a bit slow as the ball after striking the surface was coming a bit slow on the bat and that’s what CSK took advantage of after winning the toss CSK’s captain MS Dhoni said that as the time passes by the pitch gets slow so it would be good for them to bat first and that’s what they did, for DC, the dry pitch didn’t yield any positive output plus their batters failed to bat properly in the later half of the innings.

“Back to losing three wickets. We lost a wicket in the first over. Our opening combination is crucial. We lost a wicket to a run-out. We threw wickets away. Put too much on pressure on ourselves.
“Was a gettable total. To sum it up, we needed a better first six. We couldn’t rotate strike. We needed to try different things but we couldn’t. When you get a wide half-tracker you can’t hit it to cover. We should have executed better with those wide half-trackers.”
MS Dhoni:
“It turned a lot in the second half. We know that our spinners use a lot more seam than some of the other bowlers. We thought it’ll slow down. “We didn’t know what’s a good score. That’s why I wanted the bowlers to bowl their best deliveries but not look for wickets every delivery. That’s when you start not bowling well. I felt 166-170 was a good score. But as a batting unit, we can do better.”
