CSK secure thrilling 8-run win vs RCB
On Monday, cricket fans at M Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed an absolute run-fest between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. A total of 444 runs were scored in just 40 overs, as the Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious over their rivals in a nail-biting finish. Despite posting a mammoth 226 for 6, the Super Kings won by just eight runs, in what was a thrilling high-scoring Indian Premier League match in Bengaluru. This victory took the Super Kings to third place in the points table with six points, while RCB remained at seventh spot after suffering their third loss in five games. Despite being in a precarious position at 15/2 in just two overs, the Royal Challengers Bangalore refused to back down in their chase of a mammoth target set forth by the Chennai Super Kings. The dismissal of Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror only served as fuel for the fiery partnership between captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, who put together an impressive 126-run partnership for the third wicket in just over 10 overs. Though CSK struggled to find their footing and couldn’t seem to hold onto their catches, they staged a comeback by taking the wickets of both Maxwell and du Plessis in quick succession. Despite valiant efforts from Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed further down the order, it was not enough to seal the deal for RCB, who fell just eight runs short of the towering target they had been chasing.
