Singapore Open news: Kidambi Srikanth advances to the next stage, but PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy are out of the competition

Singapore Open is another Indian Badminton failure tour, as only Srikanth able to advance to the next round.

Kidambi Srikanth wins the round of 32 of the Singapore Open against Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand with a scoreline of 21-15, 21-19 in a straight set, whereas PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy are out of the tournament in the round of 32.

The Indian Ace PV Sindhu once again failed to win the title or even reach the final of a major tournament this year after losing to world-ranked number 1 Japanese star Akane Yamaguchi after a decent match. Sindhu won the first set by 21-18, but then the world number one showed her skills and then won both sets by 19-21 and 17-21.

All eyes were on HS Prannoy as he recently won the Malaysia Masters title but failed to reach the round of 16 in the Singapore Open as Kodai Naraoka dominated the match and won it by 15-21, 19-21 in the round of 32 of the Singapore Open.

Srikanth’s next match is against Lee Chia-hao, who is currently ranked 48 and surprised everyone by his performance in Singapore Open. He defeated Kenta Nishimoto by 21-18, 21-18 in a straight set which is an amazing performance by him because Kenta is ranked 11 worldwide.

Saina Nehwal and Aakarshi Kashyap were also knocked out of the tournament in the first round. The former ranked 1 player, Ratchanok Intanon, defeated Nehwal by 13-21, 15-21, and on the other hand, Kashyap was thrashed by Supanida Katethong with a scoreline of 17-21, 9-21, which was an embarrassing loss by the Indian badminton player in the first round.

Indian Badminton team is not doing great this year, and the level of Badminton has dropped quite much after winning the Thomas Cup last year. India produced many Ace from time to time, especially in the women’s category, who are still playing for the country, but the level of their performance went really down, which is such a surprise to everyone.
