Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty secured their career-highest ranking, No. 5th in BWF World Rankings
BWF World Ranking: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are back on their highest career rank, no 5th in Men’s Doubles, after Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced their latest world rankings. However, they recently lost their two matches in the Sudirman Cup, in which the Indian Badminton team was knocked out in the 1st round of the tournament after being defeated by Chinese Taipei and Malaysia.
Satwiksairaj and Chirag won gold in the Asian Championship, the first men’s doubles pair to achieve this feat in the history of Indian badminton. They defeated Malaysian duo Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi 21-16, 17-21, 19-21 in the final of the Asian Championship men’s doubles in Dubai on April 30th, 2023. Due to the gold in the Asian Championship, they got back the 5th rank in the BWF World Rankings in men’s doubles.
I am greatful for all the support we have got during the Badminton Asia Championship. It’s a great feeling to win this tournament for the first time and I am sure we will win more such titles in the future. We will continue to workd hard to bring laurels to the country

The next tournament they will go to is in Thailand Open, in which they will face France duo Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar in their first match on May 31st, 2023. It will be a challenge for the Indian duo to beat the France duo as they recently beat the England duo in their previous match, and on the other hand, the Indian duo lost two consecutive matches in the Sudirman Cup.
