Indian Badminton Team All Set To Make Their Mark in Asian Junior Championships 2023
The Indian badminton squad is ready to shine at the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023 in Indonesia. The team kickstarted their journey with an intensive two-week training camp that was held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana.
The preparation camp had the support of REC Limited and was conducted in collaboration with the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The training camp consisted of focused drills, fitness sessions, and mental conditioning to prepare the players for their upcoming tournament.
The Indian badminton squad comprises of 24 members including 10 men’s singles players, eight women’s singles players, four mixed doubles couples, a coach as well as support staff. They are all geared up and determined to show their skills in the biggest badminton championship in Asia. Chief National Coach Pullela Gopichand expressed his confidence in the team by saying that he is sure they will deliver great performances at the Asian Junior Championships this year.
The Men’s Singles team includes Pranav Chopra, Sai Charan Koya, Lakshya Sen, Karun Nair, Vinayak Sharma Kudaravalli, Abhishek Yelegar, Sankalp Anand, Maisnam Meiraba Luwang and Subhankar Dey. The Women’s Singles players are Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli, Fruity Singh Chahal, Prashi Joshi, Aakarshi Kashyap and Tanvi Lad.
The Indian badminton squad will be facing tough competition from other Asian powerhouses like Japan and China in the upcoming tournament. However with their extensive training and preparation they have the potential to put up a strong fight. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 10th to 16th July 2023 and the Indian badminton squad will be looking to make their mark in the event.
