Yashasvi Jaiswal the next Gautam Gambhir for India?

Yashasvi Jaiswal can be a big thing for the Indian Cricket team shortly. He has everything needed for an ODI and T20 opening batsman, which he has shown in Indian Premier League (IPL) and the domestic circuit occasionally.
Jaiswal is one of the prodigies for the Indian Cricket Team who might play a significant role in the future ODI Indian Team. Though right now, he is performing well in the T20 format as the type of player he is ODI format is more suited for him, and the Indian team needs a left-hander in the opening slot because after Gautam Gambhir, no other player can take his place or perform like him which he did.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s journey was not easy at all, from being nothing to becoming one of the great young talents for the county. He comes from a very low-income family who does not have basic things to prove to him, and at the age of Ten years, he shifted to Mumbai to get proper cricket training Mumbai is not cheap, and for even a sip of water, you need to pay which was out of hand for the Ten-year-old boy.
He somehow got a part-time job as a helper in the dairy shop, but soon the shop owner fired him because he was not giving much time to work. He then started living in a tent at the Azad Maidan with groundskeepers and started selling Panipuri to earn much somehow to get food at the end of the day; many days went by on an empty stomach. Still, he believed in his ability, and then Jwala Singh, the coach of a cricket academy in Santacruz, spotted him, took him into his academy, and became the legal guardian.

From a young age, Jaiswal showed his class and talent, and during his school tournament, he scored a record 319 runs and took 13 wickets in a Giles Shield Match, which is known as one of the major tournaments in the school and youth levels. He was later selected for the U-19 team and played in the 2020 U-19 World Cup, where he became the leading run scorer in the tournament as he scored 400 runs in 6 matches and a century against the Pakistan U-19 team in the tournament.
After the U-19 Worldcup, Jaiswal debuted for the Mumbai team in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season, and there till now, he played 15 first-class matches in which he scored 1845 runs with an average of 80.21 which is an amazing feat by any batter. In the List A format, he scored 1511 runs in 32 matches with an average of 53.96.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was picked by Rajasthan Royals in IPL Auction 2020 for 2.4 Crore rupees and made his debut against Punjab Super Kings on September 22, 2020, in which he failed to show his class and got out on just 6 runs. He played 2 more matches in the IPL 2020 and scored 40 runs in 3 matches, but in 2021 he got more chances as an opener, and then he scored 249 runs in 10 matches with an average of 24.90.
In the 2022 season, it got slightly better for Jaiswal as he scored 258 runs in 10 matches with a 25.80 average and strike rate of 132.99 which is decent for an opener. Now in 2023, he started off really well, and in just 8 matches, he crossed his previous total score. Right now, he scored 304 runs in 8 matches, and still, there are a few more matches left to play.
The innings against the Chennai Super Kings on April 27, 2023, was his best innings, and he showed the Indian team selector that he could get a chance to be in the Indian ODI team because if they are giving many chances to Ishan Kishan and Prithvi Shaw who constantly kept failing then why not give him few matches because he has the potential to be the next Gautam Gambhir for the Team India.
The ODI World Cup is near, and many players will definitely play their last world cup. Rohit Sharma is one of the players who will play his last ODI World Cup, and his replacement, Shubman Gill, has already impressed everyone with his class and playing style. The next important thing for India is finding the other opener; if the opener is a left-handed batsman, that will do better things.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s playing style reminds a bit of Gautam Gambhir because he was not a very aggressive batsman, but he knew how to keep the score running, which made him one of the best Indian batsmen who are known for playing the best innings in the most important matches just like he did in both T20 and ODI 2012 World Cup final.
Jaiswal’s List A record shows that he is a capable opening batsman in the ODI format who can be a regular for the Indian Cricket Team if he keeps performing well in the IPL and in the List A matches. He has all types of shorts, and being a regular IPL team opener, he might get better with hitting power in the future because right now, he is young, just 21 years old. He can also do some part-time leg-break. He took 7 wickets in his 32 List A matches.
