Axar Leads DC to Victory in Nail-Biting IPL Match Against SRH!
Despite Washington Sundar’s fantastic all-round performance, Sunrisers Hyderabad faced yet another defeat in the IPL against Delhi Capitals on Monday. Sundar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s bowling attack managed to restrict Delhi to 144/9, exposing their batting weaknesses. However, SRH’s downfall was a result of their lack of aggression in batting, leading to a final score of 137/6. Despite a late recovery led by Heinrich Klaasen and Sundar’s unbeaten 24, the team suffered their third consecutive loss. It’s clear that the team needs to focus on their batting strategies if they hope to turn things around in their upcoming matches.
The Delhi team secured a thrilling win against their opponents in a closely fought match. Anrich Nortje showcased his talent by dismissing his South African teammate, while Mukesh Kumar‘s brilliant last over defended 13 runs to give Delhi a second consecutive win of the season. Despite starting the season with a five-match losing streak, Delhi did not budge and kept fighting for every point. They may still be at the bottom of the table with four points, but the team has proved that they are not to be underestimated. Harry Brook had a disappointing IPL debut season, while Mayank Agarwal failed to capitalize on two lifelines. Nevertheless, Delhi remains a strong team to watch out for in the upcoming games.
The Delhi Capitals demonstrated their dominance on the field by swiftly taking down four key players of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. Agarwal, who had initially survived an early scare, was unfortunately unable to continue his luck and fell victim to Axar Patel‘s crafty deception. SRH’s struggle was highlighted by their inability to secure more than three fours between overs 5 to 15. Despite displaying promise with Rahul Tripathi and Abhishek Sharma contributing, it was not enough to overcome the powerful hold the Delhi Capitals had over the game.
Despite his impressive knock of 49 runs from 39 balls with seven fours, Agarwal never quite seemed to have control of the proceedings during the match. The momentum shifted in the 12th over with his dismissal, and the impact substitute Ishant dealt a severe blow to the team with the dismissal of Tripathi, who had been a critical player thus far. Further difficulties followed with the dismissals of Abhishek and Markram leaving the home side reeling at 86/5. Though Klaasen and Sundar tried to revive the team with a late effort, it ultimately came too late to turn the match around.
In Monday’s IPL match, Washington Sundar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed their skill as bowlers for SunRisers Hyderabad. The duo managed to dismantle Delhi Capitals’ batting line-up, limiting them to a disappointing 144 for nine. Sundar, who had not taken a wicket in his last six matches, stepped up in a big way, taking three wickets in five balls. Bhuvneshwar was equally impressive, with a spell of only 11 runs and two key wickets. Delhi Capitals struggled after the powerplay, falling from 57 for 2 to 62 for 5, with little hope of a comeback. SunRisers Hyderabad’s bowling display was certainly the highlight of the match, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their next performance.
In the midst of a rough season for Delhi Capitals, Axar Patel and Manish Pandey stepped up when their team needed it most. With five losses in six matches, Delhi Capitals were struggling to keep themselves off the bottom of the points table. However, the partnership between Pandey and Patel proved to be a saving grace for their team. It wasn’t an easy journey, as Delhi Capitals had to bat cautiously after losing wickets early on. But once Patel and Pandey got going, they added a crucial 69 runs for the sixth wicket, helping their team cross the 100-run mark and avoid a complete collapse. It was a partnership that reminded fans why they love to watch the sport – two talented players coming together to fight against the odds and succeeding in the end.
Delhi’s performance in the match was nothing short of embarrassing. Despite Patel’s run-a-ball 34 and Pandey’s 27-ball 34 with two boundaries, their poor show was highlighted by the run outs in the back end. Bhuvaneshwar’s third-ball wicket, catching Salt behind, set the pace for the game, but he didn’t stop there, keeping Warner quiet for most of the opening spell. Although the Delhi captain managed a couple of boundaries, he fell soon after the Powerplay, succumbing to spin bowling all-rounder Sundar’s skills. It was clear that the team was in a hapless state, and the run-outs only added to their humiliation.
The return to Hyderabad was not a memorable one for Warner, who was caught out for a 20-ball 21 on only the second ball while attempting a sweep shot. This set the tone for Delhi’s downward spiral, with their comeback batter Sarfaraz Khan falling next to a similar sweep shot on the fourth delivery from Sundar. Even Aman Khan, who struck a first-ball four, wasn’t able to hold on and fell on the final delivery off Sundar. However, the match had its moments when DC’s No 3 Mitchell Marsh began the innings with four boundaries off Marco Jansen, but was eventually deceived by a slower delivery from T Natarajan, causing him to leave with just a 15-ball 25. Overall, it was a rather disappointing day for Warner and Delhi, but at least Marsh’s brief moment in the spotlight was able to inject some energy into the game.
