Conway: Dhoni Complained to Umpires About Spidercam in IPL Match
During CSK‘s match against RCB, Dhoni impressed everyone yet again with his lightning-fast reflexes while catching Maxwell. However, what went unnoticed was how he had to adjust the position of his gloves at the last moment in order to get a grip on the ball. The ever-vigilant captain then immediately went to the umpire to complain about the positioning of the spidercam, which he believed had caused hindrance during the catch. This incident prompted Player of the Match, Devon Conway, to express his views on the use of technology in cricket. He stressed that while it is important to embrace new technology, it shouldn’t come at the cost of interfering with the game and affecting players’ abilities to execute their skills seamlessly.
It’s nice to have that technology to show different angles of the game but there come a point where (it) can’t get too involved and interfere with the game. MS (Dhoni) was probably trying to speak to the umpires, saying ‘don’t get too close to the action and try to avoid too much (of what’s) going on
It (interference) happened a couple of times where the ball had got very close to the spider cam as well as the wires, that can obviously put a fielder off. I think Faf stepped away a couple of times because the shadows of the spidercam were in his way. It’s obviously a little bit testing for guys.

The Chennai Super Kings were on fire as they took on the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Their batsmen Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube played an absolutely pivotal role in securing a crucial win for their team. With a strike rate of more than 180, they managed to put up a daunting total that proved to be too much for the Royals to handle. The way these three players coordinated with each other was truly remarkable, with each one bringing their own unique strengths to the game. It was a remarkable display of batting that left everyone watching in awe, and it’s clear that the Chennai Super Kings will be a force to be reckoned with this season.
