There were some magical innings from Devon Conway, Shivam Dubey, Glenn Maxwell, and the captain of the RCB (Faf du Plessis).

RCB vs CSK highlights: CSK put 226 runs on the scoreboard:

Batting first, Chennai Super Kings’ start didn’t go well, as Ruturaj Gaikwad only managed to make 3 runs when Mohammad Siraj got his wicket in the second over of his spell. Now Devon Conway was joined by Ajinkya Rahane, who had shown his hitting capabilities in his last two matches. They both took better care of the bowlers in the powerplay and managed to put 53 runs on the scoreboard in the first six overs. Rahane’s innings came to an end in the very first over of Waninunda Hasaranga’s spell, where he failed to read the googly.

Meanwhile, Devon Conway was picking up his form, and he was joined by Shivam Dubey, who came out as an X-factor, and they together started giving wings to the ball by hitting sixes all over the ground. While Devon Conway, after making 83 runs, fell prey to Harshal Patel’s yorker in the 15th over of the innings, Dube, on the other hand, continued his game and ended up making 52 runs.

Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja played some shots out of the park and managed to put a formidable score of 226 runs on the board.

RCB vs CSK highlights: Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis’s Rampage:

Chasing a humongous score of 227 runs, RCB’s former captain Virat Kohli and current captain Faf Du Plessis started the innings. Kohli made his intentions clear and hit a boundary in the second ball of the very first over, but he failed to continue like that and was dismissed by Aakash Singh, who was substituted as an impact player to Ambati Rayudu.

Glenn Maxwell, after Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror’s dismissal, joined his captain when RCB’s fans were losing hopes of winning the match, but both of them batted like they would end the match together and put on a show for the cricket fans. They both made their fifties in quick succession, and RCB crossed 100 runs in just 9 overs. They both had an incredible partnership of 125 runs, but later Glenn Maxwell’s destructive innings came to an end and he was dismissed by Maheesh Tikshana when he was playing at 76.

Later, Faf du Plessis was dismissed by Moeen Ali when RCB was at 159-3. Faf played a captain’s innings and scored 62 runs in just 33 balls making him the current orange cap holder. Dinesh Karthik started playing in his style and tried to keep the scoreboard going but was dismissed by Deshpande, batters afterward failed to do something impactful, and RCB fell short by just 8 runs.

RCB vs CSK: Post-Match

The match was a treat to all the IPL or cricket fans; people came in huge numbers to see MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s batting, but unfortunately, both of them spent less time on the crease; at the end, CSK came out victorious while RCB’s valour during the chase shunned CSK a bit. Though RCB fell short by just 8 runs, they showed other teams what they were capable of and will bounce back strongly in their next fixture against the Punjab Kings on April 20th, 2023.

Ajinkya Rahane saved five runs for his team while launching himself towards the ball.
