Childhood days of Virat Kohli:
Virat Kohli was born on November 5, 1988, to Prem Kohli (his father) and Saroj Kohli (her mother) in Delhi, India, and as of 2023, he is 34 years old. His father worked as a criminal lawyer and his mother is a homemaker. He is the youngest of his 3 siblings, and his childhood was spent in the Uttam Nagar locality that comes under West Delhi district. His father was very supportive and always encouraged him to play cricket. At the young age of 9, he joined the West Delhi Cricket Academy under the guidance of his cricketing coach, Rajkumar Sharma.
He studied at Vishal Bharti Public School and later at Saviour School, passing his senior secondary from the latter, and at that time he was managing his studies and sports simultaneously. His father died due to a cerebral attack in 2006, and after that tragic incident when he lost his father, who supported him throughout his life, he became more mature and disciplined towards his life and career, as per Virat Kohli’s mother.

Virat Kohli’s domestic cricket journey started in 2002 though he didn’t get selected in the under 14 Delhi cricket team despite his good performance he managed to found a spot in under 15 Delhi cricket team and captained it in the year 2003-04 and with his exceptional performance in the whole season with 2 centuries and with the end of the year 2004 he got selected for Delhi’s U-17 team in Vijay Merchant trophy and in just 4 matches he managed to score 470 runs, later on in 2005-06 he was the flag bearer of his team’s scoreboard and scored 757 runs in the tournament making him the highest run scorer of that year’s tournament.
He was appraised by the then coach, Ajit Chaudhary. Later on, he improved his batting technique and in the year 2006 Virat Kohli made his debut in List A cricket or Ranji Trophy, after that he had his first class debut in the year 2006, but that didn’t end up well as he didn’t score even a half-century in his first 3 matches and in the same year his father passed away, despite of his father’s demise he returned to play the match and played an impressive innings of 90 runs that helped his team in avoiding the follow-on.

After that he had his test debut in the year 2011 against West Indies, but his performance were not up to the mark as he managed to score only 4 and 15 runs in his short innings.
