The longest and oldest format of cricket is now taking a different turn as the old style of playing test cricket by just being defensive is slowly changing to being more aggressive, and this transition has worked so well for England since Ben Stokes started leading the England’s test team and Brendon McCullum took over as the Test coach, and the duo’s strategy has been given a name called “Bazball”, which England’s player Harry Brook also endorses, as England is seeing the results since the adoption of the aggressive approach. They have only lost four test matches so far since “Bazball” came into play and won series against South Africa, New Zealand, and Pakistan.

So far, four test matches of the Ashes 2023 have been completed, and Australia is leading the series by 2-1. England’s hope of claiming the Ashes urn washed out after the Manchester Test was declared a draw due to a heavy downpour. Now England has to tie the series by winning the last Test at the Oval, otherwise Australia would reclaim the Ashes. Some experts said that the “Bazball” obsession was the reason for their loss in the first test match, as England declared their innings on the first day of the first test match, but Ben Stokes has no regrets for doing that, and Harry Brook too is a staunch supporter of this strategy.

The right-handed batter recently made some bold statements on the strategy and said that they are not focused on winning games; they just want to entertain people and make the test alive again.
