Asian Games 2023: Indian cricket team full squad announced, Ruturaj Gaikwad to lead, Rinku Singh got the spot:
Asian Games 2023, which will be happening in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8, 2023, is one of the biggest athletic events on the Asian continent, where 10,000 athletes from 45 countries will be participating. For the game of cricket, the BCCI recently announced a 15-member squad with five stand-by players; the matches will be played in a T-20 format, and in the upcoming months, fixtures will be released. Cricket was last played in the Asian Games in 2014, and Sri Lanka is the defending champion. India is sending a team dominated by Youngsters to the Asian Games 2023, which is to be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had an impressive IPL season with the bat playing for the Chennai Super Kings.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket and for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, will be leading Team India. Rinku Singh finally got his maiden Team India call-up, and he will be seen in action in the Asian Games. His amazing performance with his bat in the IPL 2023 is the reason behind his selection in the squad. Another left-handed batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, is also in the squad. The left-handed batter recently made his international debut, and in his first match, he scored his maiden test cricket century.
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is also included in the Asian Games 2023 squad. As the bowler is improving his game and recently played some matches in the county championship, he would be an asset for the team in the continental tournament. Here is the squad declared by the BCCI for the Indian team.
