PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen reached the Canada Open Quarterfinals

Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu enter the quarter-finals of the Canada Open, giving a strong performance in the round of 16.

The Indian Badminton star PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen reached the Canada Open Super 500 quarterfinals. They both are the only Indians who reached the quarterfinals, which is not the result of what the Indian Badminton Federation was thinking.

PV Sindhu got a walkover to the quarterfinal after her Japanese opponent Natsuki Nidaira pulled out from the match due to injury, and now she is going to play against Gao Fang Jie, who won the Indonesia Masters Championship.

Lakshya Sen won against Brazilian tennis star Ygor Coelho in a straight set by 21-15, 21-11, which is an amazing achievement by him. He was a Commonwealth gold medallist in the past, and now he will go up against Julien Carraggi, the Belgium tennis star who won against M. Zilberman in a straight set by 23-21,21-13.

In the Indonesia Open, Lakshya Sen lost against the countrymen S. Kidambi, but this time, he is the only Male player in the single category to reach the Quarterfinals of the Canada Open.

In the Men’s Mixed double V. Goud Panjala/K. Prasad Garaga lost against H.Setiawan/ M. Ahsan in the round of 16 by 9-21, 11-21. It is quite sad to see that Indian women’s doubles and mixed double failed even to reach the round of 32 because India has been one of the giants when it comes to playing in pair, but this time, the performances of the Indian Badminton player is going quite down drastically.

Lakshya Sen did show some amazing ability and has been one of the most impressive shuttlers in the tournament; defeating his opening in the round of 16 with ease was a commendable thing, but it is going to be hard to win the next, but he is one of the contenders now to reach at least final.
