Netherlands’ player Bas de Leede becomes 5th to attain this amazing feet in cricket history.
Netherlands beat Scotland by 4 wickets in a must-win game of the ICC Qualifiers 2023. Netherlands victory credit goes to their player Bas de Leede, whose all-round performance in the match helped Netherlands qualify for the CWC 2023 after 12 long years. They last played in 2011 in the ICC World Cup. Bas de Leede had a dream match for his country side as he not only bowled well and took 5 wickets of Scotland players but also scored a match-winning century, which led the Netherlands to the final of the ICC qualifiers 2023, where they would be fighting against Sri Lanka, which has already qualified for the ICC World Cup 2023, which is to be hosted entirely by India for the first time.
The Netherlands have had a great run in the qualifiers, and during their match against the West Indies, they pulled out an unbelievable victory. Carrying that confidence, they are now the final qualifier for the ICC World Cup 2023. Scotland, while batting, scored 277 runs. Credit goes to their 4th wicket partnership of 137 runs between Brandon McMullen and captain Richie Berrington. McMullen scored 106 runs, Richie Berrington scored 64 runs, and at the end, Tom Mackintosh’s 38 runs helped his team put a fighting total on the board, but the counterattack done by Netherlands players was unbeatable.
Netherlands once were lagging behind when they were 108/4 but Bas de Leede and Saqib Zulfikar fifth wicket partnership of 113 runs proved vital in the team’s victory and Bas de Leede scored 123 runs. His great performance made him only 5th player to score a century and take a fifer in the same ODI match he took 5/59.
