Cesar Azpilicueta joined Atletico Madrid on a one-year contract after saying a heartfelt goodbye to Chelsea F.C., where he stayed for 11 years; he quoted You called me Dave, I will always call you home.

Azpilicueta appeared in 508 matches and grabbed 9 trophies. He scored 17 goals and provided 56 assists, showcasing his ability to play as the wing-back and his amazing hitting ability.

The new owner of Chelsea Club, Todd Boehly, and co-owner, Behdad Eghbali, said that Cesar would be going to leave his presence at Chelsea Club forever as a champion, warrior, and Loyal Chelsea Legend. He is not 33 years old and might play just one more year, and because of that, he chooses Atletico Madrid because it is a spain sited team which is going to be close to Azpilicueta’s home as he is Spanish and he took this decision due to his family.

There was an offer from Inter Milan before the Madrid offer, but when he got an offer from Atletico Madrid, he decided to go back to his nation to live there because his family will be going to feel better there.
