The World Cup winner Emi Martinez arrived in India and will be staying in Kolkata
Emi Martinez landed in India at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, on Monday after promising the Indian fans that he would visit India.
Martinez came to India to meet fans and also for the inauguration of gates which are named after Pele, Diego Maradona, and Garfield Sobers at the Mohun Bagan Club. He won the golden gloves in the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022, which happened in December.
Emi Martinez will also be going to meet Mamta Banerjee and one of the best Indian batters, Sourav Ganguly, at a charity match. He is also going to spend his time with underprivileged children and also wants to visit many sponsored events.
He also wants to try Bengali cuisine and well-known dishes from the cuisine. He wants to try Kancha Lankar Murgi and Saptapadir Abhinabha Mangsho.
“I am really excited, feeling great. It was a dream (coming to India). I had promised to come to India, I am happy to be here,”
