“I want to be the best if I come back and I’ll want to compete with Surya and Kohli”- AB De Villiers

Mr. 360 of cricket, “AB De Villiers,” who retired from cricket in 2021 at 39 years of age and announced his retirement from international cricket back in 2018 but was playing in the cash-rich IPL till 2021 has recently gave an interview on Jio Cinema where the South-African great said that if he returns to cricket, he wants to compete with India’s former captain Virat Kohli and Mr. 360 of Indian cricket, Surya Kumar Yadav. In his 15 years of cricket, AB De Villiers has played some magnificent innings, and due to his dynamic batting style and the ability to play some of the most unbelievable shots, he is a special player that cricket fans look up to. His performance for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL made him a known name among Indian cricket fans, and before the IPL 2023, he was also honored by RCB by including him in the RCB hall of fame.

AB De Villiers started his international cricket career in 2004 for South Africa and has garnered popularity due to his batting style. While giving the interview, he expressed his thoughts on playing cricket again and, if he comes back, who he wants to compete with, sharing his views.

“Definitely. I could still play. But the drive is not there anymore. Robbie, from a young age. It’s always just about being the best. I want to be the best if I come back and I’ll want to compete with Surya and Kohli and I just felt the last four years of my career not playing international cricket. I definitely didn’t play enough cricket towards the back end of my career. I think that was the main thing.
