Royalty Steps onto the Court: Princess of Wales Visits All England Club Ahead of Wimbledon 2021
Princess of Wales Visits All England Club Ahead of Wimbledon 2021
British royalty visited the iconic All England Club this week as Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, attended a doubles rally with tennis great Roger Federer. The two engaged in some friendly competition before the start of the Championships on July 3, 2021. In addition to her practice session with Federer, the Duchess also took part in training drills with the 250 ball boys and girls who will serve at Wimbledon this year.
The visit is not totally unexpected from the duchess; she has been an avid tennis fan for many years and has made it her mission to encourage young people to participate in sports activities. She was particularly inspired by Emma Raducanu’s historic Grand Slam victory earlier this year and even played a match with the US Open champion at the National Tennis Centre.
The visit to Wimbledon is just one of many sports-related activities that Princess Kate has undertaken in recent years. She is an ambassador for the UK’s SportsAid charity, which supports young athletes, and she recently took part in a mentoring session with a group of children from the organisation.
Kate Middleton’s enthusiasm for tennis and other sports has been embraced by the public, who admire her dedication to supporting British sport. With Wimbledon just around the corner, fans across the country are looking forward to seeing what else she will bring to SW19 during this year’s Championships.
