“Pakistan Cricket is bigger, if we don’t go to India it won’t make any difference”- Javed Miandad’s brutal attack on BCCI
Even after the ACC‘s green flag to the proposed hybrid model of Pakistan, where India will play all its matches in Sri Lanka and some matches are to be held in Pakistan, former Pakistan cricket team captain Javed Miandad looks unhappy and furious due to the denial of the BCCI to send the Indian cricket team to Pakistan. BCCI showed resistance to sending the Indian team to Pakistan, which was hosting the entire Asia Cup 2023 earlier, citing security concerns. Once, it was speculated that the entire tournament would be moved out of Pakistan, seeing that Pakistan threatened to boycott the continental tournament, but they came up with a hybrid model, which is now accepted.
Javed Miandad, who never missed any opportunity to criticize India and the BCCI, has attacked the BCCI again due to the reluctancy of India to play in Pakistan and insisted Pakistan boycott going to India for playing cricket even if they have to boycott the ICC World Cup 2023, which is going to happen in India this year.
“Pakistan has been to India in 2012 and even in 2016 now it is the turn of the Indians to come here. If I had to make a decision, I would never go to India to play any match, even the World Cup. We are always ready to play them (India) but they never respond in the same manner. Pakistan cricket is bigger… we are still producing quality players. India can go to hell. I don’t think even if we don’t go to India, it will make any difference to us,”
Javed Miandad told reporters
India last toured Pakistan in 2008 before the Pakistan-sponsored deadly terrorist attack of 26/11 on India, and the last bilateral series between the two teams happened in 2012 when Pakistan came to India for a 3-match ODI series. If there is no further development on the Asia Cup 2023 row, then the continental cup would be hosted jointly by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
