Spain won the major international title after 10 years as they defeated Croatia in the final of the UEFA Nations League in penalties by 5-4 after Unai Simon’s amazing saves. The only sad part of the final was Luka Modric once again going hope with no title after giving his all in the match.

Dani Carvajal’s spot-kick goal made Spain champions at the Feyenoord Stadium. Unai Simon saved two penalty kicks. Lovro Majer and Bruno Petkovic were not able to convert the penalty spot kick into a goal which became the reason for their defeat.

The match was very tight as till the extra time it kept 0-0, which clearly shows that the defenders did their job quite well and the strikers were so bad in the game. The first chance for Spain came in the 12th minute, but Gavi failed to put a stolen ball from the defender in the net as his shot went wide.

In the 23rd Minute, Aymeric Laporte made an amazing tackle against Andrej Kramaric not to let him get the long ball sent by Croatia’s defense line. In the second half starting minute Croatia got an amazing chance to break the lockdown, but Mario Pasalic and Josip Juranovic failed to hit the ball inside the net.

In the 84th minute, Ansu Fati came on the field to give more power to the forward line to score the late winner, but Perisic goal line clearance saved Croatia from being beaten in the normal time. The match went to extra time, and in the 100th minute, Lovro Majer got a hard tackle from Nacho in the penalty box of Spain, but the referee Felix Zwayer let the game carry, and it went to a shoot-out which Spain won, and once again Croatia and Modric missed the golden opportunity to win the major international trophy.
