Spain are into final of Nations League after defeated Italy by 2-1 in the semi-final
Joselu‘s late goal secured the place for Spain in the final of the Nations League as they took the revenge of last Euro.
Spain was the better team in the whole match as they dominated the game with possession play as they are known for, but this team went on to attacking mode earlier than they used to as Yeremy Pino picked up a loose ball in the penalty area of Itay and converted the chance in an early goal under 3 minute.
Spain is known for their passing game, and all of their defenders and midfielders pass a lot in the match. However, the Italian did not wait for long, and in the 11th minute, their striker Ciro Immobile scored a goal from the penalty spot as he sent the goalkeeper the other way.
Italy’s 20th-minute goal was disallowed as Davide Frattesi was given offside after a VAR check which kept the scoreline level. Unai Simon saved a blinder in 48 minutes when he saved the shot from Merino which was very close to the goalpost.
In the 87th minute, Rodri shot a thunderbolt from outside the box, which the goalkeeper saved, but then Joselu found it right under his foot and made a tap-in to score the late winner for Spain, who are in the final and will play against Croatia.
It was a tight match between the two sides, but in the end, it was Spain who got the win, and now they will play against the side whom they beat in the Euro 2020 round of 16 in the penalty shootout. Till now they have both played 9 international matches against each other in which Spain won five while Croatia won Three and one matches was drawn between them.
