Gautam Gambhir opens up about his relationship with Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

Former Indian cricketer and Lucknow Super Giants coach Gautam Gambhir broke his silence on the rumored rift between him and some Indian players, including MS Dhoni. Who doesn’t know about the heated moments between him and Virat Kohli as the two had an ugly spat in IPL 2023 when RCB was taking on LSG. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli didn’t keep the calm and exchanged some words. The players were then separated by the on-field players and coaches. The fight started with LSG’s bowler Naveen-ul-Haq, and then Gambhir got in between, which eventually landed up with three of them getting fined by BCCI for their behavior.

Gautam Gambhir, after a month of the verbal face-off, recently clarified his stance on the situation and stated that these types of moments only happen on the field, but the relationship he has with Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni is normal, and there are no boundaries as such off the field. The former Indian player also quoted MS Dhoni in his statements to clarify that there is nothing personal with Virat Kohli; he argues whenever he thinks that he is on the right side of the argument, not because of some personal rivalry, as when he had heated exchanges with Virat Kohli in the IPL, he was backing his players in the first verbal fight as a captain and in the second as a coach.

“My relationship with MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli is the same. If there is an argument between us, it stays only on the field, not off field. There’s nothing personal. They want to win as much as I do”

“Look, I have had many fights on cricket fields. It’s not like I never fought. I have always ensured to let those fights and arguments stay at the cricket field only. The argument was between two people and it should stay within the cricket field and not outside it. A lot of people said many things. A lot of people demanded an interview for TRPs like they asked me to clarify. The thing that has happened between two people doesn’t need to be clarified,”

Gambhir said in an interview with News 18.
