Junior Indian Hockey Team wins against Pakistan in Asia Cup final by 2-1 to win the 4th title

Junior Hockey Team win Asia Cup after defeating Pakistan by 2-1 to get their hand on 4th title.

Angad Bir Singh and Araijeet Singh Hundal’s goal gave the Indian hockey team a win over Pakistan to win their 4th Junior Asia Cup title. India has now become the most successful team in Asia to win the most title overtaking Pakistan.

It was a thrilling match between two fierce rivals in the final of the Asia Cup, but the result went India’s way. The first goal came from India’s side by Angad Bir Singh in the 13th minute of the match, and soon after that, the second goal from India came in the 20th minute by Araijeet Singh Hundal. Pakistan pulled one back in the 37th minute of the match.

India won the Men’s Junior Asia Cup title for the fourth time as the first title came in 2004 and then in 2008, 2015. The fourth title came in 2023 after they defeated the Pakistan team. For the amazing efforts of the Men’s Junior Hockey team, the Hockey India Executive Board announced a reward of 2 lakh rupees each for the players and 1 lakh each for the support staff.

“The Indian Junior Men’s team has made us all extremely proud with their unbeaten performance at the Junior Asia Cup. The team has shown great promise over the past few months, particularly after their historic win at the Sultan of Johor Cup they have become a dominate force and I believe this big win will hold them in good stead for the Junior World Cup later this year. Hockey India has decided to honour the players for this feat with a befitting cash award. I congratulate the team and the support staff for their efforts.”

The coach of the Indian Men’s Junior Hockey team was happy with the performance but still was not truly happy as he wanted to convert every chance. India failed to convert some penalty corners, but still, the defenders stepped up their game and made life hard for the strikers of Pakistan.

The captain of the Indian Men’s Junior Hockey team Uttam Singh said that he knew where the Pakistan team lacked and where they should attack. The coach CR Kumar was also impressed by the team and how they were able to control their emotions.
