Indian Badminton legend Pullela Gopichand joins Indian Padel Federation as an Advisor

Pullela Gopichand and Supriya Devgun join hands with Indian Padel Federation to improve the Padel sports

The Indian Padel Federation (IPF) announced that Pullela Gopichand would be the advisor for the next 2 years as recently in Padel sports has been growing quite fast in India, and legends like Gopichand and Supriya Devgun will be an amazing advisors for the Padellers.

Since the foundation of the Indian Padel Federation in 2018, the federation hosted top-ranking events to give Indian player exposure at the international level and make them a strong team. So in the future, in the Olympics, India will also bring medals in Padel events.

Gopichand is one of the most renowned players and coaches in India, and from time to time, many shuttlers have come to the limelight in the international event under his wings. He won Padma Bhushan, Arjuna, and Dronacharya awards for his immense contribution to badminton for India. Supriya Devgun is also joined IPF to support Gopichand in directing the Badminton players to better future performance, as she is the bronze medalist of the 2017 BWF Championship.

Gopichand is a bronze medalist in the 2000 Jakarta Asian Championship. He also won bronze and silver medals in the 1998 Commonwealth Games. S.M. Arif coached him and also was in Prakash Padukone Academy. After retirement, he founded the Gopichand Badminton Academy in 2008, and from that academy, many badminton players came out, like- Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, Srikanth Kidambi, and a few more.

Saina Nehwal won the bronze medal under him in the 2012 Summer Olympics, and then P.V. Sindhu won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. His faith in P.V. Sindhu is still on, and in a recent interview, he said that the form is temporary for Sindhu as she is still the best badminton player in India and will be back in her prime form once again very soon.

Sindhu has been struggling all year to reach even the semi-final stage of badminton tournaments, but it is going to be quite hard work for her if she wants to get into her prime form.
