Aryna Sabalenka reached the semi-final of the French Open by defeating Elina Svitolina in the Quater-final to face Muchova
The Belarusian professional tennis player Aryna Sabalenka will play against Karolina Muchova in the semi-final of the French Open (Roland Gross) after defeating Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina in the quarter-final by 6-4, 6-4 in a straight set, and now she will face Muchova in the semi-final.
Muchova waits for Sablenka’s challenger in the semi-final of the French Open. Can she reach her first final, or does Sabalenka come close to her 24th grand slam?
Sabalenka is ranked 2 in the world and will be against Czech player Muchova who was not a seeded player in the tournament, as she is ranked 42 in the world right now and played fantastically in the French Open to reach her 2nd semi-final ever in her career.
Muchova once reached the semi-final of the Australian Open in 2021, but after that, she could not find the rhythm of the game and kept losing again and again, pushing her to the 42nd rank. She was ranked 19 in May 2021, but after the Australian Open, she could not hold herself. She never won any ATP or major title, but this time, maybe she can after reaching the semi-final of the Roland Gross.
Sabalenka will be the favorite to win the competition, and she is going to be featured in the Netflix series breaking point. She praised Svitolina after the match and gave her full respect.
“She’s such a tough opponent, moving well, and what she’s doing after giving birth is so impressive,”
“When I was a kid, I practiced a lot on the clay, more than on hard court. … I feel very comfortable on the clay, and hopefully I can go as far as I can here at Roland Garros.”
Sabalenka said in the post match conference
Karolina Muchova was happy with the performance she gave against Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter-final match as she won in a straight set by 7-5, 6-2. She told reports that she is glad for her performance and that it will help her get closer to the top ranks.
Muchova also talked about beating one of the top 10 players in the French Open, which was inspiring for her as it was tough because the first round is always tricky.
